One thing that a lot of people have a fit about is when someone purchases generic soda brands. Whether it is a store brand or some other generic brand of soda, people tend to get a bit on the ticked off side when they see that someone couldn’t or wouldn’t spring for the “real stuff.” Well, today my friends and I were broke but we wanted some soda. We were picking up a few last-minute items we needed for supper at one of our local Dollar Tree stores (a TRUE dollar store, there is NOTHING in that store over $1) and I was looking at a selection of 3-liter bottles of a brand of soda called Stars & Stripes.
Normally we go for diet cola flavored drinks around here but the Dollar Tree wasn’t carrying that, so we settled on Root Beer. We got it home, shoved it in the fridge to get cold and waited. So BFL and I each grabbed a glass of it about half an hour ago and I have to say I was highly impressed. To say that I paid exactly $1 for a 3-liter bottle of this root beer, it was delicious. It tasted exactly how root beer is supposed to taste. It isn’t A&W by any means, but I have to say this root beer takes the cake. So if you have a Dollar Tree that carries this brand near you, I would definitely pick some up.
