What’s Wrong With Them?

Have you ever seen some of the fans they show in the stands during races? Seriously, they don’t look very happy. Is it because they need a colon cleanse? Or is it because their favorite driver isn’t doing so well? Sometimes they don’t even look happy before the race starts, as if they’ve been sitting there thinking about something gross or eating lemons and getting all puckered up.

Then we have the way some of them dress. Most of them seem to dress normally in jeans and t-shirts, but then there are the ones I’ve seen wearing bathing suits, shorts without shirts, and even a couple of women who are dressed up like they were going to church or something. :/ Um, what? LOL

Just a few observations I’ve made during the crowd shots during the races. :)

I Know It Has To Sting

You just know that it has to sting some of the drivers that a young driver got the 500 today. I mean we’re talking about veteran drivers such as Dale Jr, Tony Stewart, and Kasey Kahne who are getting tromped by a young kid. It just has to sting. I’m sure they’re happy for Trevor Bayne, but on the other side of the coin, they’re probably thinking that the kid is still using tretinoin gel to get rid of his acne and that it isn’t fair that he won the race today.

I’ve been one of those people who gets annoyed with the younger drivers at times for winning races, because my favorite is an older driver. But all that aside, I do like to see the younger drivers when they start winning because frankly, if my favorite retires, I’ve gotta cheer for someone, might as well see who I want to cheer for when it happens!

I Wish It Was Higher

The TV I’ll be watching NASCAR on is in the basement right now. That’s fine because that’s where I’ve been sleeping. The problem arises when I have to deal with the fact that the TV is not on a tv stand at all. The TV sits on the floor, which is fine, but then I have to either look down at it from the chair or the bed, or I have to lay on the floor to be on level with it. My friend keeps saying we’re going to put a new stand under it soon, but of course, we never get around to it. LOL

Do you have any sort of special arrangements for how you watch NASCAR? A favorite chair that you sit in, a favorite spot on the sofa? Maybe a particular snack you always have when you watch?

Ever Notice?

Have you ever noticed that NASCAR drivers are rarely sponsored by footwear companies? Yes I know Denny Hamlin is bringing Nike in now, but seriously, you don’t see too many footwear cars out there on the track. I mean, can you just imagine seeing Tony Stewart driving an algeria shoes car? Or Ryan Newman driving an Adidas car? How about having Dale Jr. drive the Reebok car? LOL See what I mean? It’s a funny thought that someone might actually drive a car that is sponsored by shoes. Then again, with some of the sponsors I’ve seen on cars, it wouldn’t surprise me a bit to see a shoe car out there!

Considerations

There are a few things I am considering for this blog. I am considering getting a PO Box for this blog so that people can send me things for it via “snail mail” if they choose. I am also considering getting an email address for this blog so people can submit things to me via email as well. Of course, I’m not going to go so far as to buy address labels just for the blog, but hey, I might have to down the road, who knows? :D

I am also trying to make a transition to the greater majority of posts here being NASCAR related. I will still put personal stuff here, I am sure, but I intend to make this as much NASCAR as I can. Are there any other changes you’d like to see here??
