If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
I just found out that I was docked $6 worth of money owed to me for a “missing/forfeited” post. Ok. I sent them a message asking what was up. They said to just resubmit the post that was missing/forfeited and it would be fine. I informed them, with a copy and paste, that I did not have any information as to what the post in question was.
Their response?
As there was 8 months between your latest and your previous post it’s likely the warning was there for some time to resubmit that post that couldn’t be found.
The problem here? I’ve been logging in off and on for those 8 months. So I would have seen it if I had a warning. I didn’t have any warnings on their site. I didn’t have any emails saying “we can’t find this post.” I have NEVER deleted any post with the exception of one - a post I was declined for. Frankly, I am NOT obligated to keep a post on my site if they declined it. So I took it down. I never heard anything about having to put it back up. So now, 8 months later, you dock me for a post that’s missing and can’t even tell me which one it is?
I call BULLSHIT. You docked me and you can’t tell me what post I was docked for? That’s because it doesn’t exist. It wasn’t a legit docking and you know it. So I deleted my blogs and sent one last message. I won’t be blogging for Smorty anymore.
I have had it. I was punished with a declined post because Smorty’s system allowed me to take a post that I’d supposedly already taken on that blog. Maybe I had. I don’t know. But I shouldn’t have been punished for THEIR system screw up. Check here for that rant. Now they pull this. I’m done. I’m kissing Smorty good-bye!

I’ve been bitten by the worry bug. Right now, there’s a possibility I may not have my job much longer. I’ve put in applications at a couple of places, but a lot of places still require you to come in to the location to put in your applications. That and quite a few of the places that were hiring here aren’t hiring anymore. Which really isn’t a good thing at all.
But I’m going to keep pushing on, submitting applications and hoping for the best. I’m in real trouble though if I don’t keep my job and don’t get another one quickly - I’ll lose my apartment and I don’t have anywhere to go if I do!

I’m telling you, I’ve got the crafting bug again. I’m crocheting, considering attempting to knit, and I’m wanting to try my hand at beading and jewelry making. I’m also itching to get back to candle making. I loved making candles and want to start it up again. They’ve got some interesting new waxes for making candles, some cool new scents, and frankly, I can’t wait to try them.
I just need the money to start it up! LOL
I started crocheting when I was 11. We had a housekeeper who could crochet and she taught me how. I’ve attempted to knit several times over the years and have managed to do so pretty well a few times, but not much. I’ve never actually made anything by knitting.
I adored making candles. My friend Nichole and I used to make candles - she was all for using this little machine I’d gotten to make them, but I preferred using the boil bags to melt the wax and pouring the candles by hand. I don’t know why, but I just preferred it. I still do. I have a package of wicks with metal clips on the bottom for making container candles, and I have a package of boil bags. I just need the wax, scent, dye, and containers.
Let me say, my ears are driving me absolutely bananas! I have fluid behind my ear drums, they won’t drain, and it’s driving me nuts. I constantly feel like my ears need to be popped and if I don’t focus carefully on people when I’m on the phone, I can’t understand them. I swear, I’m sick of it. LOL
Ok, I suppose I should get my ass to bed. Good night.

Ok, I understand what The Electronic Frontier Foundation is trying to say with saying that in order to protect yourself from unwanted consequences from blogging, you should blog anonymously and not be googleable. But seriously, how stupid is that?
If I wanted a diary that no one would find or know was mine, I’d buy a regular paper diary and write in it. I have a blog because I don’t mind if people see it. So why on earth would I do it anonymously? That makes you look guilty of something, because frankly, it makes you look like you have something to hide.
Suggestions like not putting your name on your blog, not putting details that could lead to someone figuring out where you work, making sure your site can’t be indexed by the search engines, etc, to me, defeat the entire purpose of carving out your own space on the web. People WANT to be found. They WANT to be read. In some cases, it’s a matter of not being able to say what they need/want to in front of someone, but being able to let it all out on a blog. If the person they need to say it to sees it, great, if not, that’s fine as well.
I mean, I can understand saying that you don’t want your place of business named specifically, etc but don’t tell me I can’t say whatever I want to on my blog when I’m blogging off the clock. I don’t blog on the clock, so anything I say, work related or not, should not have a bit of bearing on my employment status.
And by the way - these states that have it set up so you can be fired for any reason need to change their laws. It’s BS to be able to be fired because you blogged or because someone in the office has a grudge against you for something. I live in one of those states, so I’ve seen it first hand and it needs to have an end put to it.

Enough with cities doing all they can to try and force people to stop eating fast food. Guess what? You can put the calorie counts right in front of me, if I like it, I’m still going to eat it. You tell me that new fast food places can’t open their doors in your town, I’ll look right at you and remind you that banning a BUSINESS from opening is NOT going to help your unemployment rate go down.
And frankly, you have no right to prevent me in any way, shape, or form, from eating what I damn well want to eat. It is MY job to get ME healthier, not yours. I am sick and tired of seeing articles about this city and that trying to pass measures that don’t allow fast food places to open and banning this ingredient and that ingredient.
News flash, if I know what I’m eating and I still choose to eat it, that’s on me. Don’t tell me that you’re going to pass this law and that law and make it so I don’t have a choice. People say that there’s too many fast food restaurants and that they don’t have a choice. Yeah, they do. They can go home and cook for themselves instead of going to Burger King. They can bring their lunches from home instead of running next door to the fast food place. They can make a choice that brings them away from fast food. But it’s not right to take that option or that choice for those who CHOOSE to go to a fast food place.
The governments need to butt the hell out. Sorry guys, but I’m supposed to have rights and frankly, I don’t think you’re thinking about that. You’re thinking about what YOU want. If I want to be fat, that’s on me. Blaming the restaurant and fast food industry and punishing them for MY CHOICES is unfair and is a bunch of crap. Don’t cry to me when you realize that you’ve put all your fast food places out of business and that you have so much unemployment you don’t know what you’ll do with all the people who are out of work because there’s no fast food left thanks to your stupid ordinances and laws.

I put up a new theme the other day, I’d have to get into my FTP to tell you the exact date. I know there’s a couple of things I need to change, like the BlogCatalog widget and the ad box place holders so they’re not green, but other than that, I like the way it looks. It came out looking a lot more like Karah’s theme at Diary of a Track Bunny than I’d intended it to, but I suck at making themes/layouts most of the time and somehow usually end up looking like I’m copying someone. Bleh. LOL
I’ve turned comments on the blog back on. I believe all of the older posts are still set to not accept comments, but from this post on (at least) the comments are turned back on. I’ll just turn comments off on posts that I don’t want comments on, that I’m just “bitching” about something on.
Ok, I’m off to do a few things on my other blogs and then it’s off to start crocheting again. I have a ton of projects in the works and my best friend LaShawn has threatened to cut off transportation to purchase new yarn until I either finish some of them or come to a point where I have to get more yarn or I can’t finish them. If you want to see some of my stuff you can go to Lady Amaranth’s Crochet.
