Book Review: A Courtesan’s Scandal by Julia London
Since I’ve moved my book reviews over here to my personal blog, I am going to switch up the review process a bit, at least for this time.
*I received a copy of “A Courtesan’s Scandal” from Pocket Books for free in order to be able to do the review. Good reviews were not incentivized, bad reviews were not censored. The only compensation received was the free book.*
It has been a long time since I have read a historical romance novel and I had forgotten how much I generally enjoy them. Most of my tastes lately have run towards murder, mystery, horror, and YA, so to get a historical romance novel to review was actually a blessing.
This is actually the 3rd in a series of “Scandal” books – but even though it was the 3rd book in the series, there was nothing to detract me from reading it – it does wonderfully as a standalone novel. It is a well written novel with everything being in keeping with the times. The interactions between Kate & Grayson were wonderfully fluid, while the interactions between Kate and the Prince were as stilted and uncomfortable as they were meant to be.
This was a wonderful read that I find very difficult to review without giving it all away.
An excellent 5 star read.
