Ever try to keep yourself busy? You know, messing on the internet, searching for weight loss supplements that work or something like that? You have things to do but can’t do them because you haven’t been paid yet? Yeah. That was me this afternoon. But I finally got paid, got my stuff done and I’m good to go now. 
I can relax and play games or whatever I want to do on the computer, or I can crochet, and I don’t have to worry about going out tomorrow to do anything. 
My former employer called me yesterday and asked me to call them back – said they had a unique opportunity for me – the opportunity to come back to work for them. Basically they’d pay me $0.50 more per hour than they were for the first three weeks -aka for the training period – then when I went out on the floor and on the phones, I’d drop back to what I was making before. Plus, there is a required 100% attendance for the first 90 days. That’s great, but um, I can’t control when I get sick, I can’t control what the weather does around here, and frankly, I find it insulting that you’ll pay me more to do the three weeks of training than you will pay me to deal with the actual customers and do my job. Nice. No thanks. I decided not to take the job. I need a job yes, but the headaches I suffered while there, the CONSTANT heartburn (I have a hiatal hernia and will have acid reflux and heartburn for the rest of my life, yes, but this was unreal), etc are NOT worth it. The money isn’t worth my health. Sorry. So yeah, I’m still in the market for a job.
I had an interview with Kohl’s on Thursday, so we’ll see what comes of that. I’m ready for a change and I think back to retail may just be what the doctor ordered.
