Winter Weather Alert

I HATE winter weather in Iowa. The cold is not what bothers me. It’s the snow and ice that accumulates all over the place, making driving treacherous. The worst of it is, the storm we had Monday night wasn’t half as bad as trying to get around on Tuesday! No, I am not kidding! The cab I took home on Monday night was fine – a couple of slips while turning corners, but otherwise we were good.

LaShawn taking me to work was a whole different ball of wax. It wasn’t bad until we got to Riverside (section of town), where we slid into a curb, and then to Alorica (my workplace) where we slid into another curb. Unfortunately, it knocked the tire off kilter, so they had to get it fixed. They didn’t get charged for it though, which leads me to believe the tire place had seen a lot of that today. *sigh* The roads were better tonight when a friend from work brought me home, and LaShawn scoped some better options for routes when she came home yesterday. So we’ve got some other options to get me to work tomorrow. LOL

In any case, it’s about time for me to go to bed, so I will leave off for the time being. Good night!
