Two Weeks
Well, it has been 2 weeks since I was given 2.5 hours notice to vacate my apartment. I feel twinges of sadness over the items I lost (the piano my beloved grandfather bought for me, family pictures, etc that I simply did not have time/room to take) but for the most part, the items lost are just “things” and can be replaced. I did get a photo album of photos that contain pictures of pretty much everyone in the family that I was concerned about, so I am not completely without pictures.
Tomorrow will be 1 week since I interviewed with Target for a sales floor/cashier position. I was told that it would probably be sometime this week before I heard anything back. It is Wednesday now and I have not heard anything. I suppose it is time to start putting more applications in and to go to our Workforce Development center and register for assistance in finding a job. While in some ways I feel it might have been best to speak with people at Alorica and see if perhaps we could have worked something out, I also feel that I probably would not have that job at this point anyway so it really wouldn’t matter too much.
So at this point, I am merely putting in applications where I see they are hiring, and I am doing my online activities. I also do some of BFL’s church activities such as Ladies’ Scrapbooking night, although I usually take my jewelry making stuff, crochet, or cross stitch. We just sit and talk and work on various projects. It’s more of a social thing than anything. It happens once a month up at the church. Pretty fun if you are able to attend.
Tomorrow is grocery shopping and bill paying, so I suppose I’ll be on the run all day long. That really doesn’t bother me too much. I don’t mind it, and it gets me out of the house, which is good. We might even take the laptops and take advantage of free WiFi at the restaurant we grab lunch at, or if we finish early enough, hit the library for a nice round of looking up how to lose fat and genealogy. We’re kind of working on the family trees (and BFL and her mom are trying to figure out if we are possibly related due to some of my family’s surnames matching their family’s) and we’re looking to lose some weight as well. So we might do some library work as well. It would be kind of fun.
Oh yes, and the requisite trip to Hobby Lobby for craft supplies.
We do that a lot. LOL Ok, so I suppose it’s time to buzz out and do some other work. I have a theme for a new blog to create, I’m considering creating a new theme for Basically Geeky (hate the color scheme all of a sudden) and then I’ll be messing around on Facebook as per usual.
Talk to you all later.
