Oh Really?
I find it extremely funny that my former boss called my best friend’s cell phone and left a voice mail for me, stating that if she did not hear from me by 5PM she would push through my termination. She stated in this voice mail that she has not heard from me in over a week. Funny let me think about this here…
1. I called in and left a message that I was ill and would not be at work on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday of last week. Wednesday I had actually gone in to work and was too ill to remain, but I wrote a note and left it on my boss’s desk to let her know what was going on.
2. Last Wednesday I received a text message from said boss stating that as she had not heard from me Monday or Tuesday (funny, I have the proof the calls were made on my cell phone) she had pushed through a termination.
3. Saturday I received a phone call and voice mail from my boss’s boss asking how I was feeling and when I would return to work. I guess he didn’t get the memo that I had been fired.
4. Today my boss calls my best friend’s phone and leaves a message saying if I didn’t call her back by 5PM she would assume I had quit and would push through the termination.
Ok, so suddenly I’ve quit, I wasn’t fired? I was fired a week ago, but all of a sudden I quit? Oh well, at least now I guess I can put on my job applications that I voluntarily quit that place. That should make finding a new job a bit easier than it would have been otherwise. However, I am not pleased with the fact that my former employers chose to play games with me like this over the past week. I am glad that I am no longer employed there and I do not plan on ever going back.
