MyPoints

You know, I do a lot of email reading for places like MyPoints and InboxDollars. I read the emails, click on links, and get either points or cash. I’m to cash out point on InboxDollars, but I’m not cashing out until I get a bit more money built up there. MyPoints I’ve cashed out several times, getting iTunes gift cards, Panera Bread gift cards, and even Walmart gift cards. I’ve even gotten gift cards for book stores from MyPoints.

Most of the emails involve just clicking on the link and getting five points or two cents depending on if it’s a MyPoints or InboxDollars email. Some of them invite you to do things like get free auto insurance quotes, or sign up to get free samples of items. The free sample ones are torture because you fill out the form, go through the world’s longest survey/questionnaire, and then never actually get the free sample in question. I know because I’ve tried several times. I’ve never gotten the samples and the company has never sent back word to MyPoints or InboxDollars that I did the thing, so I don’t get credit for it there either. grr

Some of the things you get though, I have to say, I find to be a bit shady. They don’t seem to be too particular about the advertisers they’ll give space to, so a lot of the emails I click the link to get my two cents or five points and then quickly close the window. I’ve even had a couple of them that had horrible popups on the site, one that even caused me to have to reboot. I complained to MyPoints about that one quickly, and I haven’t been sent that one since.

In any case, if you don’t mind getting a bunch of email, and if you’re interested in being able to get gift cards for various business, check out MyPoints. Every little bit helps in this economy, so if you can get the gift cards, I say do it!
