I have to laugh at some of the people I work with. They get the most interesting ideas. One of them recently got one of those “make millions on eBay” kits. They said they were going to start working on it right away. I happen to know a few things about those kits and I just shook my head.

See, what most people don’t realize is that those kits require you to have substantial funds to work with up front. You have to decide what type of merchandise you want to sell on eBay, find places to buy wholesale lots of the goods you’re going to sell, and then you have to find ways to get good pictures of the items and post them on eBay.

So you’ve just paid however much for that “kit” to tell you how to make millions on eBay, you have to pay however much it costs for the wholesale lots of the goods you plan on selling, and then you still have to pay the listing fees and percentage fees for the items selling. Sure, you might still come out ahead, but if you think about it, if things don’t work out for you, you’ll end up with a bunch of stuff you can’t get rid of, that you’ve paid for, you’re out that money and the money paid to eBay for listing fees. Really, is it worth the hassle?
