Get Off Me Already
You know, it is getting pretty bad when you can’t even go to the laundromat where you live without being accosted the instant you walk in the door by someone selling something. You walk in, and to your right or left is a card table with someone sitting there selling stuff. I’ve seen Avon, Mary Kay, Tupperware, Girl Scout cookies, Stimerex ES, you name it, there has probably been someone selling it from a card table at either the entrance to the grocery store or the laundromat.
I realize that people are trying to make money, but really? I’ve been through some of those things and never made nearly what the people who were “coaching” me and “helping” me get started did. Of course, they always said I didn’t try hard enough. Ok, I did exactly what they told me to do and it didn’t work. I did everything, more than once. I took out ads, I talked to people, left catalogs all over the place, etc. Yet I got nowhere with it and yet it’s MY fault that your get-rich-quick home business thing did not work for me. Maybe it is just my personality. I can’t even sell stuff from my Etsy or Artfire shops. LOL
But back to the people I’ve been seeing outside the store and laundromat – if I was interested in what they had on their table, I’d go over to them. There is no need for them to come over to me and say “here, check this out, I know you need or want this.” No, I don’t actually. What I want/need is for you to leave me alone so I can do what I came here to do!
