We’ve been going through some boxes around here and finding things that we have either no use for, or just don’t want anymore, so we’re looking into ways to get rid of it. Some of it is just junk and is going to be thrown away. Other items are still good and so we’re trying to decide if we’re going to give it to Goodwill or try to sell it. The big problem with Goodwill is that here, they are very selective about what they will and won’t take. If they don’t think it can be sold, or if it needs any sort of repair before being sold, they won’t accept it. In some cities they will, because in some cities, they have people who are trained to fix stuff up first. Here we don’t have anyone trained that way, so they won’t do it.
BFL’s mom came up with the idea of having a yard sale, but so far, we haven’t found enough stuff to actually have one yet. By the time we do find enough stuff to have a yard sale, it will be too late in the year to have one. Can’t have a yard sale when it’s freezing outside. But we really can’t afford to sell it online unless we can find some website that offers free online auctions for sellers.
Someone suggested selling it on Etsy under the Vintage category, and some of it is over 20 years old, but we don’t think there’d be anyone interested in it, since usually what the Vintage category does is provide people with vintage parts for the new craft projects. So it’s back to the drawing board again!
