Could It Even Burn Right Now??

Monday, December 28th, 2009

I’m telling you, I don’t see a whole lot of point in trying to find any sort of home insurance quotes for this place right now. We’re so covered in snow, I’m not sure the house could possibly burn! LOL If it did, I have a feeling that all that would really happen is that the snow would melt and put it right out. Yeesh! Seriously we have some snow going on around here. I’m honestly surprised we don’t have any caved in roofs around here from all the snow. And we don’t have any tree limbs down from the horrific amount of snow. I have a picture to show you here of the car after the snow plows got here:

The car, buried in snow.

Please note the fact that the poor car is buried completely! It was about halfway buried before, and we never even got the chance to go and start digging it out before the snow plow came by and buried it completely! BFL’s mom is afraid the city will try to tow the car. I say they won’t because a) they have to dig it out first and they’re too lazy for that and b) I have photographic proof that they buried the car! So I’d like to see them tell us that we should have dug it out sooner. HOW??? LOL

If you’re in the Mid-West did you get caught up in Blizzard 2009?? If you aren’t, or you didn’t get caught up in it, where are you?? Because you are so lucky! LOL

Merry Christmas ?!?

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

While I AM wishing my readers a Merry Christmas, the punctuation in the title has meaning to it. You see, the mid-west has been experiencing a blizzard the likes of which I honestly have never seen before! This blizzard started on December 23 and only this evening has there been any sort of lull in the snow. We are under blizzard warning until at least 12PM on December 26, if it doesn’t get extended like it has every day since it started. up

Here are a few shots of the “wonderful” results of the storm so far:

Sioux City Skyline Xmas 09 by ~gothicpeach on deviantART

I admit that one doesn’t show much snow, but I was trying for the snow on the front yard and street, not the skyline, and got a cool shot of the skyline. )

Panda Bear Bunny Hopping by ~gothicpeach on deviantART

My dog having to “bunny hop” in the snow in order to not sink. Unfortunately, Momma sank like a stone up to her knees while taking him outside.

It is currently snowing again – not as heavily but still, it is snowing again. Tomorrow in the daylight I am going to take some better pictures of how buried the car is, how the mailbox is sitting, and other things. Until then, Merry Christmas!

A Thoughtful Post

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Well, I suppose it isn’t going to be too thoughtful. After all, it’s not like I really have anything to be thoughtful about right now. LOL I am trying to figure out what to do about my job situation. I mean, really, I’ve been looking, but there really isn’t anything here. I can’t go out of town since I don’t have my own transportation, and the buses here don’t really go that far out. There are a few agencies I could probably put in applications for, but really, I’m not all that fond of having to go through a temp agency to find work if you know what I mean. I mean, it isn’t like they’re going to send me out for a job like Syracuse catering and have it be permanent. No, any job I get through the agencies here is going to be a part-time, temporary position. While most people would say that is better than nothing, and I suppose it is, it can be quite a while before you get another job once yours ends.

When I lived in Texas, I was supposed to have worked for RGIS or REGIS, I can’t remember how to spell it now, a company that goes around to stores and does their inventory for them. I’m sure you’ve seen them in the aisles of stores with their calculators and counting things, printing out slips and sticking them on the shelves. Well, although they hired me, they never did call me to go out to any of the stores, so I never did actually work for them. I haven’t seen anything about them hiring here, otherwise I’d see about trying to get on with them again. We’ll see what happens I guess.

Is It Time To Get Away Yet?

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

It’s freezing cold here and the cold, snow, ice, and other winter weather is already starting to wear on my best friend and her mom. They literally keep saying all the stuff will go out around us and that God will take it away because they’re praying that it won’t hit us. I say they’re asking for the natural balance of things to be disturbed for their own selfish purposes, but that’s just my opinion. However, after our storm a week or so ago, and the storm that hit the East Coast today, I’m sure there are a lot of people who are looking for travel health insurance so they can have one less thing to worry about when they get the heck out of Dodge for the time being.

I admit, a vacation is starting to sound really good, but I think part of that is simply because I can’t take one. You can’t take vacations when you don’t have the money to do so. It just doesn’t work too well. LOL So I’m just going to read up on warm places, see if I can do a little “mind vacation” and try to ignore this cold winter weather.

So What’s Up With Me??

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

Ok, so I suppose you’ve noticed that a lot of my posts lately have paid links in them. Whoops. Really, to be perfectly honest, I haven’t had a whole lot to say. I still do not have a job – the paid blogging is still my only income source. To be honest, I’m already worried as I have not had any assignments come in this pay period so far (although I’ve had none through Wednesday before and then four or five drop in Thursday or Friday), and that money would be needed to make sure my hosting bill is paid for January. :/ Oh well, I’ll find a way to get the money somehow.

In other news… LOL… I’ve been crocheting up a storm lately. I have to get one more ball of yarn in order to finish the one blanket I am making, and I started another baby blanket that I’m hoping I can get the rest of the yarn for soon and then be able to take a picture of it. It’s about time for me to get started crocheting some things I can add to my Artfire & Etsy shops, as well as getting some new items into my Etsy jewelry shop. I am thinking of making Eternal Stardust Jewelry into either Eternal Stardust Accessories and incorporating things such as crocheted hats & scarves, or possibly even changing the name of it completely – a variation on the name Night Dreams (Nyte Dreams, Night Dreamz, Nyte Dreamz, etc) comes to mind, but I am not sure about that. I may just incorporate the hats, scarves, ponytail holders, etc into ESJ and just roll with it as well. It just depends. )

Well, that’s a small update about what I’ve been up to lately. I hope to get back into the swing of blogging, even if it is just to say I’m not really doing anything. LOL
