So What Did You Get?

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

Ok, so Christmas is over, should be well and over with for everyone. What did you all get? I got the DS back in November and that was it so far. Apparently the neighbor over here is going to get Christmas presents for us, but she hasn’t gotten out to get them yet. I know at work everyone said they pretty much got what they were looking for – although a couple of girls didn’t get the engagement rings they thought their boyfriends would give them. LOL Why is it that around Christmas and Valentine’s Day, everyone thinks they’ll get engagement rings?

Speaking of Valentine’s Day, I was at Wal-Mart yesterday getting pet food, and I’ll be darned if they haven’t already started putting out the Valentine’s Day stuff. Of course, there was an aisle dedicated to bags and bags of various candy bars in Valentine’s wrappers. Honestly people, WTF? Can’t it wait until at least the middle of January? Do you honestly think people can hide those Valentine’s gifts for almost 2 months? I know it wouldn’t work in my house, or in my friend Sarah’s. Especially from women – we know the spots to hide stuff in. )

And I guarantee after Valentine’s Day is over, you’ll promptly see St Patrick’s Day and Easter stuff coming out. There isn’t much St Patrick’s Day stuff, but the Easter stuff will be out in droves. *sigh* At least some of the stuff works well for Wiccan/Pagan holidays as well. LOL

Please Stop

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

Right now, my best friend’s mom is watching yet another showing of one of the umpteen Christmas movies Hallmark channel shows. A request to Hallmark – Christmas was THREE DAYS AGO. STOP SHOWING THE CHRISTMAS MOVIES! It’s past time to get back to the movies you play on a normal basis. For crying out loud – give the world a break and get off the Christmas movies. I’m sick of seeing/hearing them. That is all.

Merry Christmas To All

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

Now, I’m Wiccan, so I really don’t celebrate Christmas, but my friends are Christians so I do hang out and tell people Merry Christmas and the like. This year I didn’t buy anything like a Slingbox, nor did I receive anything like that. Ok, so I did get a DS but you know what I mean. )

Right now I’m blogging, watching Jeff Dunham’s Christmas Special, and trying not to laugh my butt off, because it makes it hard to type. LOL In any case, I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Now I am going to go sleep off Christmas dinner. )

It’s Not THAT Bad

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Honestly, I don’t understand why people are so afraid of the “public transportation” system. It’s not that bad. Granted you do get a few oddities there – the bus that takes me out to work is the one that runs by the mission, so there’s a few homeless people who manage to get the $1.70 fare to get there, but other than that, it’s not that bad. Of course, in crappy weather, such as today’s, the busses run a bit on the late side. That was fun. But I didn’t get to work late, so it was all good. ) And they do run on Christmas Eve, so that’s good. I don’t work Christmas, but I do work Christmas Eve. I wish I didn’t, but oh well. LOL

In any case, it’s really not that bad to have to take the bus. Unless you count standing out in the freezing cold to catch said bus. That’s not so great. But once you’re on the bus, you’re warm and you’re not the one who has to worry about doing the driving. ) And besides, I’m saving money over what I’d pay per month for gas, car payment, and insurance. Plus – our busses run on soy biodiesel, which is a renewable fuel, which helps the environment. )

So nope, the bus system isn’t that bad. I encourage everyone to check out their local bus system. It just might be worth it!
