Clarification

This debt that I’m being garnished for, I was told, by the Dr’s office that it’s for, that it was already paid in full and taken care of a long time ago. I’d had surgery, when I was still under 18, on my foot and I’d been told it was paid off not long after I turned 18. Now I’m finding out that it apparently wasn’t. Conveniently this collection agency waited until the doctor’s office was closed for good to try and collect, because I’d have contacted the doctor in question and had them point out that they were paid off over 10 years ago.

Frankly I keep track of what I owe to doctors and hospitals if they can be so kind as to send me a bill. You see, what they charge me after insurance pays varies and frankly, if I don’t get a bill, I can’t pay it. I just got, today, a notice from a collection agency. I file ALL bills from the hospital and doctor’s office in my files and I do not have a single solitary bill from the hospital in question for that amount. Not one. So I called the agency. They gave me the account number from the hospital. I called the hospital and gave them the account number. They confirmed that I did owe it, and I asked why I hadn’t received anything about it. Near as either the hospital or I could tell, my bills (along with other items of my mail) have been going into the wrong mail box at my building. I’m getting a PO Box this next time I get paid so I can start making sure I get all of my mail, because frankly, I’m sick of getting sent to collections because my mailman is an idiot.

As for products, I only have 2 “products” that I pay for and that is this computer and my tables at my apartment and both are quite firmly current on their payments.

I don’t dispute that I should pay what I owe. But frankly there are things that DO get pushed back if I need the money for something else more. If I have rent, groceries, etc to pay for, then I will not pay a medical bill until I have the extra money for it. My expenses to LIVE come FIRST. EVERYTHING else comes 2nd.

In a Giant Plastic Diaper

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Sorry, I couldn’t resist. I saw a commercial for Worst Week while waiting for Crue to come on Letterman, and the guy said “in a giant plastic diaper.” It made me laugh my ass off and so I just couldn’t resist. LOl

My friend has to take her computer back to the rent-to-own place she got it from. Honestly I fear having to do that because frankly, I might have to if these assholes do the wage garnishment again. I wish they’d at least have the common decency to make a damned attempt at contacting me about a bill. I mean, I get a notice that they’re going to garnish my wages and I don’t even know what it’s for, how much I owe, nothing? BULLSHIT. And of course, I have a schedule that makes calling to find out what’s going on near to impossible because I have to figure out when I can call based on when my breaks are. And let me tell you, the first thing out of my mouth will be, “This needs to be resolved right away as I do not have time to wait, I only have XX minutes for my lunch hour.” I’m not going to play with them. This is going to be the second time they’ve pulled this shit and frankly, I’m not letting them get away with it again.

Last time, I called the number on the paper I got and was told to contact the collection agency. The collection agency told me I had to contact the lawyer’s office. I told them the lawyer told me to contact them and they said since it had gone to wage garnishment, I had to discuss it with the lawyer. The lawyer again told me that I needed to talk to the collection agency. So yeah, if I get that run around again, I’ll go to the courthouse and I’ll file a complaint against them. End of story. Charity isnt’ playing with this shit anymore. Fuck that.

The worst of it is, I dont’ think these assholes realize that I DO NOT have the money to pay whatever it is, or it would have been paid already! Taking money straight from my paycheck may get them their money, but it runs a high risk of getting me evicted and forcing me to starve which I will not tolerate. AT ALL. This bullshit and bullying by this collection agency and lawyer will not continue.

Honestly

It is darned near impossible to blog from the cyber lounge at work. The equipment is horrible. If the computers don’t freeze up because you loaded more than one webpage at a time, the keyboards are sticking so badly you can’t do anything. One of them the space bar has to be hit at least 3 times to get 1 space. Another one, the ctrl button on the left side of the keyboard doesn’t work, so you can’t copy or paste anything on that side. Right click is disabled on all three computers. So yeah, it’s a pain in the arse. But I’m at home right now, so it’s all good. )

I’ve started to crochet again and right now, my project is an afghan that features kitties. ) It’s made with granny squares and it’s really cute. The pattern was in yellow, blue, and white, but I’m doing it in Tony Stewart colors - orange, black, and white. I love my Tony and I wanted to do an afghan in Tony colors. I’m gonna do one in yellow and brown - M&M colors as well because I love me some Kyle Busch as well. I haven’t crocheted for a long time and frankly, I’ve missed it. I’m actually glad to be crocheting again. Now if I could find the time to cross stitch as well, I’d be happy.

Ok, I suppose I’d better take myself off for a while. I need to get some reading done and I need to get to bed as well. I have to work tomorrow. Bleh. )

Snapbomb!

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

There’s a new paid to blog service out there, and let me tell you, I’m ready, willing, and able to make a big buzz about it! Everyone knows that blog advertising is on the rise. Blogs are the new medium for people who want to get the word out about websites, services, and products. This service is different from the others though. This service has a lot going for it.

It’s different because when you sign up, you register your blogs and they’re assigned a value. This is the amount of money you can make, from the lowest to the highest, from what I can tell. It’s a great system and frankly, I love it. I can’t wait to do more opportunities for them. Oh, what is the service called? Well, it’s called Snapbomb! Catchy name for a great service. I’m telling you, these guys may very well be the wave of the future for blog marketing!

My favorite part of the deal? They encourage in post disclosures. So everyone knows it’s a sponsored post. )

This is a sponsored post.

Tru Blood

Monday, June 16th, 2008

The past few weeks I’ve gotten a couple strange items in the mail. The first one came in a black cardstock envelope with red sealing wax on it. The stamp was from Stamps.com, red and white with ‘tb’ on it. There was no return address and my address was on a computer label. I opened it to find a lighter, more transparent cardstock with some sort of odd runic writing on it, something I couldn’t read and couldn’t find a translation for at all. Very strange. It creeped me out, but I never gave it another thought until today.

Today I pulled a bubble mailer out of my mailbox. There were two of those stamps from Stamps.com on it, and as before there was no return address and my address was printed on a computer label. I took the package inside, put on a pair of gloves, and carefully opened it to find a vial of red liquid with a message that this was “Tru Blood - a synthetic alternative to real blood.” I don’t have it with me, but it was very creepy.

So when I got back to my friend’s house, I googled it. Come to find out, it’s part of a viral marketing campaign for an HBO series about vampires. *sigh* I don’t have cable, I don’t have HBO, and yet here I am getting creepy ass messages from HBO for one of their tv series. My only question is…how did they get my snail mail address and how did they come to choose me for one of their subjects?

New Theme

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

I got a new theme! ) I made this one myself. In case you have no clue who that is, it’s Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue. ) I was having fun and was inspired to try a new style of theme by a blog that I try to read everyday. I think it turned out very well, if I do say so myself. )

LOL…my best friend just used my cell phone to call her mom…and we’re all in the same house! Mom had asked us to let her know when it was a little after five because she’s got some food cooking in the oven. Ranch parmesan chicken and meat loaf. ) Yummy. )

Earlier we went to Burger King and I had the Loaded Steakhouse Burger. It was the bomb. I hope they keep it! It had chive and bacon baked potato, french fried onion strips, bacon, cheese, and A1 Steak Sauce on it. It was sooooooo good! I can’t wait for payday so I can get another one! LOL
